More Than a Notary: Serving and Connecting in Flagler County
One of the things I love most about serving as a mobile notary is that my work keeps me connected to the people, businesses, and organizations that make our community special.
Lately, I’ve had several opportunities to step outside of my day-to-day notary work and spend time learning, networking, and serving right here in Flagler County.
Learning to Serve in a New Way
I’m proud to share that I recently became a certified Diabetes Screener through Lions Club.
This training gives me another opportunity to serve our community by assisting with Lions diabetes screenings at local events. I’m looking forward to putting that certification to use and helping support the important work Lions Clubs do in health awareness and community service.
Supporting Local Business
I also had the opportunity to attend a ribbon cutting for a new print shop in Bunnell.
Ribbon cuttings are always a great reminder of how much courage, planning, and hard work goes into opening a business. As a fellow small business owner, I enjoy showing up to celebrate and support other local entrepreneurs.
Being a Tourist in Our Own Backyard
Another recent highlight was Tourism Day with the LEAD Flagler Class of 2026, part of our Economic Development program through the Palm Coast-Flagler Regional Chamber of Commerce.
We began at the Flagler County Tourism Office, where Amy Lukasik, Tourism Development Director, gave us a fascinating look at who visits Flagler County, how tourism supports the local economy, and how tourism-related lodging taxes help fund local tourism efforts rather than coming from local taxpayers. We also learned more about the new Visitors Center planned for 2028.
From there, we visited Compass by Margaritaville Hotel, enjoyed lunch at Oceanside Beach Bar & Grill, toured Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience, and finished at Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa. It was a great reminder of just how much our area has to offer — and how tourism, business, education, and economic development all work together in Flagler County.
Community Is Part of the Business
For me, Mendoza Coastal Notary is about more than documents and signatures.
It’s about being present.
It’s about building relationships.
It’s about supporting other businesses, serving our neighbors, and staying connected to the community I’m proud to call home.
And whether I’m assisting with a notarization, attending a local event, supporting a ribbon cutting, or volunteering through Lions Club, I’m grateful for every opportunity to connect and serve.
